The BCATP (British Commonwealth Air Training Plan) was a WWII initiative for the training of Commonwealth and Allied air, ground and communication personnel for service overseas against the axis powers.

With Canada's space, and its geographic location away from the war zone, it provided an ideal place to stage this plan, having an important role in the war, which helped establish the air superiority of the allies and winning the battle for the skies in Europe.
